If I told you about my old eating habits you might not believe me.  My meals typically looked like this: Breakfast- coffee, Lunch- McDonald’s (almost daily) or nothing, Dinner- Usually some kind of takeout like pizza, Chipotle, or mac and cheese.  If I was cooking, it was often pasta or something quick, low-maintenance, and heavy.  I never really gave much thought about what I was putting into my body, nor how much of it I was consuming.

A few months ago I did a Whole30 and was thrilled with the results.  My chronic migraines were much less frequent and I had a ton of energy.  Plus, I really started to like cooking, viewing it as more of a hobby and less of a chore.  While my Whole30 experience helped me to develop better habits, I feel as though I still have some work to do.  I’m hoping this blog will keep me accountable as I aim to maintain an 80/20 paleo lifestyle.

By no means am I an expert about eating paleo, or nutrition at all for that matter.  I expect for this to be a learning experience as I spend more time at the farmer’s market this summer and less time in the drive thru.  I hope you’ll join me as I attempt to make paleo-friendly recipes that, believe it or not, can taste just as good (if not better) than a double quarter pounder with cheese!
